Tipping and how it relates to the Hair Industry

Have you ever given your all to your client -perfect shampoo service- perfect color service- perfect cut?

Listening attentively , focusing all your mental energies , giving your consultation with that client the most important or detrimental time in your existence? As if time itself has come to a complete and total standstill as if you and that person in your chair were the only people on earth at that exact moment?

And yet after all that work you get to the register and the client stiffs you on the tip?

Here are a couple of reasons why they do not tip for service

1. They either do not know
2. They do not appreciate the service
3. They do not like you as a person
4. Or their finances can not or will not allow it

But do not take it personal you will find that one client that will tip you well!

Even though hair cutting and hair dressing (styling)have been around from the foundation of time, many hair stylist in that time span have received splendid fortunes from their clients. Repeat clients often do not tip but the repeat business is great for your income, so be thankful that they return for continued services.

Keep your heads up and keep pumping out the great locks and colors guy and gals. Making a client look their best is one of the greatest tips in the industry.
How you might ask ? It’s easy someone stops them and asks them who did their hair . Instant recognition in favor of you. I have built more than one clientele just from word of mouth advertising.

And one more thing you should also consider is how well does that person know you? I mean how long have you done their hair ? If a long time and they still do not tip you then give em to God and let be what will be either continue to do their hair or be busy cleaning otherwise using the bathroom when they come in. It is about your skills it is about your livelihood . You must first respect yourself before others respect you as an individual.
